South Dakota Municipal League

Financial Assistance
The South Dakota Municipal League has established several programs to assist municipalities with cash management and investments, and with rising liability and insurance costs.

The SDML Workers Compensation Fund was created in 1987 and is a self-funded workers' compensation pool for South Dakota public entities. The South Dakota Public Assurance Alliance (SDPAA) provides liability and property coverage. The Health Pool of South Dakota (HPSD) was created July 1, 1995 and is a risk-sharing fund providing broad health coverage to member's employees. Created, sponsored, and endorsed by the SD Municipal League.

In 1991 the League endorsed the South Dakota Public Funds Investments Trust (FIT). This program assists local governments with their cash management and investment needs. More and more municipalities are using the FIT program, as it continues to provide local governments with highly competitive rates, excellent service, flexible cash management options, sound investment advice, and a growing return on their funds.  Email our FIT program for more information. Created, sponsored, and endorsed by the SD Municipal League.
